IT administrators of video systems tend to have a lot on their plate.  They may be working to maintain a mission critical system one moment and then troubleshooting network issues the next. There’s no time for tools that are difficult to understand and hard to use. Polycom asked the UX design team to deliver an experience for administrators that was powerful yet intuitive. The design strategy for the RealPresence Resource Manager application was driven by the customer need to keep the experience simple and yet provide visibility to critical systems when needed.

The RealPresence Resource Manager application is capable of managing thousands of mobile, desktop, and group telepresence systems.

 As the User Experience Team Manger, my role was to recruit and mentor a multi-disciplinary team that included user research, prototype engineering, and UX design.
